Hello, Reader,

I’m back from vacation, and wow, has September been incredible! I love post-vacation energy. I came back refreshed and ready to meet the authors joining my next Idea-to-Draft cohort.

Each time I welcome an author into my program or private coaching, I feel deeply honored by their trust. Writing a book is a very big goal, and I recognize the investment that authors are making in their dreams—time, energy, money, hope.

It’s brave to invest in yourself. It’s courageous to stake a claim and say, “I’m going to stop talking about this dream and start working toward it.” It’s bold to overcome the self-doubt and inner nay-saying to step confidently in the direction of your dreams.

As future authors say yes to their dreams, something amazing tends to happen: They start to see the world around them organize to support them. As Paulo Coehlo says in The Alchemist, “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

This doesn’t mean things will align perfectly or there won’t be setbacks. But there are signs and little openings that make way for their books to be written. And I get to be their guide to help them realize their wildest dreams.

If you’re feeling that calling, there are still a couple spots for our October Idea-to-Draft cohort, a six-month accelerated author program and mentorship to help you achieve your goal of authorhood—and beyond.

Book a call to explore how we might be able to work together to make your book a reality.

If you’re feeling that calling, I'd love to explore how I could help you achieve your goal of authorhood—and beyond.

Book a call to explore how we might be able to work together to make your book a reality.

More about Idea-to-Draft!

My six-month author mentorship program is still open for enrollment for the October cohort. This program is designed to take you from idea to finished manuscript with:

  • A proven system to eliminate guesswork and knowledge of exactly what to do at every stage
  • Coaching and accountability to stay on track and finish your book
  • A supportive group of authors walking the same path to help you gain motivation and inspiration from peers
  • Confidence to keep going when self-doubt (hello, imposter syndrome) shows up

Imagine six months from now you’re holding your finished draft. That’s the power of structure, support, and community.

👉 Book a call here, and let’s chat more about your book.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

I was recently asked to share a must-read book recommendation. Instead of choosing a practical guide on writing (what you might expect from me as a nonfiction book coach and author), I went with a timeless classic: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

I love this book because it shows the power of simple storytelling. It’s emotional, thought-provoking, and deeply human—whether you’re 10 or 110. Plus, it’s filled with quotable lines that stay with you long after you close the book.

Of course, I had to sneak in one writing-centric pick too: Stephen King’s On Writing. It’s one of the best books out there for any writer, fiction or nonfiction.

Feautured authors:

Congratulations to authors Lisa Baue and Hady Méndez on the release of their books this past month. 🥳

Lisa Baue, author of Wake-Up Calls: A Journey of Learning to Lead and Succeed in the Funeral and Deathcare Profession

In Wake-Up Calls, Lisa Baue shares the pivotal moments that shaped her into one of the most influential voices in the funeral and deathcare profession. She invites you into the heart of her leadership journey by sharing deeply personal stories and hard-won business lessons, helping you expand your knowledge, develop your grit, and embrace your heart for serving others.

Hady Méndez , author of Calladita No More: My Latina Journey and the Lessons that Shaped Me.

Calladita No More, is a powerful collection of stories about the lived experiences of a Latina who dared to dream big—only to find that the world wasn’t built for her ambitions. Through the lens of familiar Latinx cultural sayings, or refranes, Hady Méndez shares the lessons she learned navigating identity, leadership, and belonging in a world fueled by bias, discrimination, racism, and sexism.

💫 Your writing inspiration

💡 Writing tip: Maintaining momentum is key to your success.

You know those days when you’re go-go-go, from a busy workday to the grocery store to cooking dinner to cleaning up and taking care of tasks, and you know—you just know—that if you sit down, it’s all over? You might rot on that couch cushion from now until infinity.

Most of the authors I work with have started and stopped their books not just once but often many, many times. They get a lot of energy and momentum, and then they sit on the metaphorical couch.

The goal, instead, is to not get into a go-go-go mentality. Build momentum and keep a pace you can maintain. And then, for the love of books, don’t stop.

💭 Writing quote by Louis L’Amour

“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”
