Hello, Reader,
Fear. It’s the thing that stops us from so much of what we want to do. Not laziness. Not potential. Not ability. Though, of course, those too.
But fear—that’s what really holds people back. Especially aspiring authors.
For aspiring authors, this often manifests through crippling self-talk that sounds like:
What if the book I’m writing isn’t any good?
What if no one reads it?
Worse, what if people read it and hate it?
Is what I’m writing worthy of a book?
Who am I to write a book?
I understand this sentiment wholeheartedly. And even after authoring, ghostwriting, and coauthoring eighteen books and currently working on my nineteenth, some of those old self-talk not-so-friends crop up. They love to sit on my shoulder as I write or dance around my head when I sit down at my desk or go to sleep at night.
Thankfully, I have the gift of foresight because I’ve been there. I know that fear is part of the process. I know my fears will be disproven because the journey of authorhood is transformative, life-changing, and deeply rewarding.
And I also know that to be brave, by definition, you have to feel fear and do it anyway.
Courage does not exist if fear does not exist first.
So today, I invite you: Be brave and lean into the thing that’s been on your heart and mind. Reframe that inner self-talk to support your big vision. Shut off the news because it’s stealing your attention and motivation. Stop scrolling because it’s rewiring your brain to be less focused. And, friend, be brave, because the world needs more of your story, your message, and you, showing up in all your fullness.
To bravery,
Stacy
P.S. My next six-month group coaching program starts in April. In it I help authors overcome their fears and write books that catapult them to their next level of impact, influence, and revenue. You’re the perfect fit if you’ve felt a calling to write a book but haven’t answered it yet—or if you have answered it but lost steam after the outline or first chapters(s). If you’re ready to write a book that changes everything, let’s talk.
Open Office Hour, March 31 at 1 p.m. ET!
Office Hours are always a delight, with rich conversation and inspiring future authors ready to make their book dreams a reality—join us on Tuesday, March 31 at 1 p.m. ET. For an entire hour, you’ll have my full attention on your specific needs and questions.
Sign up here. ✨
While I’d like to think I’m part of the draw for you to join, honestly? The best part is that you’ll be with others who are ready to take action on their author dreams. They’re tired of wasting time, money, and opportunity—and they’re done waiting and ready to take the journey of authorhood. Or at least, they’re ready to consider it!
Alongside supporting your author journey during the office hour, I’ll also share about my group coaching program, Idea-to-Draft, and answer any questions you have about the program.
I hope to see you there!
