Hi, Reader,

“I just don’t have the time.”

“I’m so busy—I can’t imagine fitting in another thing.”

“I’ll do it in six months when my calendar clears up.” (Spoiler: it doesn’t.)

I regularly hear variations of these phrases from people who want to achieve big things, whether starting a business, launching an impact mission, or writing a book.

But here’s the secret high achievers have known since the dawn of Type-A time: you don’t need more time—you need a better plan.

I don’t mean to sound like a productivity bro. Because I’m a realist. As a mom and business owner, my days are t-i-g-h-t. It’s hard to fit in what I need to do, let alone what I want to do.

And yet, time and again, I see that accomplishing a big goal is really as simple as creating a plan and showing up. Sitting down and doing the work. Every day.

So if you’re using time as an excuse (ahem) the reason why you haven’t accomplished that big goal that’s on your heart, ask yourself: If I were to make this goal happen within the next six to twelve months, what would I need to do to make it happen?

Then check in. Do you really want it? Are you willing to go for it? If the answer is yes, I encourage you to lean in. I believe in you!

Before you write, define the why behind your book. Ask: What change do I want this book to make in the world—and in my reader’s life?
